Elodie Carstensen's latest collection Absence of Promised Safety will begin its silent narrative in the otherworldly setting of Großer Wasserspeicher as an registered Studio2Retail event during Berlin Fashion Week. Weaving art and fashion into a multi-sensorial journey that explores the beauty of healing.

The lineup includes TARA NOME DOYLE + Friends, Jeannel, Auno, Aywing, Florian Flausen, Martial In-Albon Cornelia Bölke and Lou Croff Blake

With her signature technique of Ice-Dyeing, the candid fabric of the first garments of the collection changes and develops into new, unexpected creations, while 12 artists - musicians, instrumentalists, poets - uplift the experience with their performances, echoed by the venue’s outstanding acoustics.

The collection and the experience originate from the artist’s own experience, and from a deep reflection on her journey and how to represent it through fashion and art.

Fasion designer Elodie Carstensen presents an innovative one-of-a-kind dress at the VORN SPACE OPENING AND ACADEMY SHOWCASE RECEPTION during Berlin Fashion Week. Carstensen shows a size-inclusive dress crafted from peace silk and hand-dyed in an ice dye process. The unique technique, where melting ice cubes carry vibrant orange and fuchsia acid dye into the silk, results in an ethereal visual spectacle.

What sets Carstensen's creation apart is its inclusivity, featuring an almost forgotten pleating technique that adapts seamlessly to any body shape.

The dress embodies Circular Elegance, a theme echoed throughout the VORN Academy Showcase, where ten visionary designers redefine luxury through circular and virtual design. The immersive event showcasing the multidisciplinary project "Des Nachtmahrs Schmetterlinge" took guests on a journey from isolation to transformation and fusion. It served as a metaphor for reviving social life after a long phase of loneliness. Inspired by the metamorphosis of a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, the focal point of the event was the concept of catharsis. The walkable sound and spatial installation, consisting of 13 tree structures, provided the backdrop for a performance, allowing guests to experience the phases of transformation of the 13 performers up close.

In the showcased fashion film, the 13 outfits created for the project were portrayed as characters on their collective journey. Additionally, exhibited as a tarot card set, they provided guests with the opportunity to identify with their own abilities and individual qualities."Des Nachtmahrs Schmetterlinge" was an immersive experience that transported guests into a captivating world of transformation and fusion.
